Gareth Dunlop - Fathom

Gareth is the Founder and CEO of User Experience agency, Fathom based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

After graduating from Queen’s University Belfast with a degree in Computer Science Gareth has been a mainstay of the digital industry in the UK and Ireland for longer than he’d thank me for telling you.

As anyone who has heard Gareth speak on the subject of User Experience will testify, it’s a subject he’s very passionate about – and has a great skill for making the complex very easy to understand.

Grainne Elliott - Thrive.app

Grainne is Chief Marketing Officer at Thrive.app – an employee engagement application which helps organisations communicate quickly and easily with remote teams.

Her experience in the Technology Sector started as VP of Marketing with DisplayNote – a role which she held for 3 years.

Grainne is a graduate of Queen’s University Belfast where she qualified with a BSc in Economics and Business Economics.

Geoff Wilson - Sports Consultant

Geoff has run his own global sports consultancy business since 2014 and has also been a guest speaker at many international conferences.

Geoff was also a volunteer member of the board for the Chartered Institute of Marketing in Ireland as well as being a winner of multiple CIM Awards including Marketing Director of the year in 2008.

Geoff’s client list includes some of the largest sporting organisations in the world including FIFA, UEFA and FIBA.

Kristina King - Xperience

Kristina is Marketing Manager at Xperience.

Xperience offer a ranhe of cloud services including managed IT as well as CRM and ERP systems.

Prior to her role with Xperience Kristina worked with Automated Intelligence and Hivera.

Prior to these roles in the technology sector Kristina spent 5 years working in marketing agencies in a variety of roles so she can provide us with a great insight into the similarities and differences of working in both agency side and client side roles.

Joe Glennon - Topcon Positioning Ireland

Joe has held the role of Marketing Manager with Topcon Positioning Ireland for the entirety of the 21st century having joined the company in September 2000.

Topcon operate in the construction industry and are recognised globally for the surveying equipment that they offer for the construction industry and many other sectors.

Joe has seen significant changes in the construction industry since he began working with Topcon, particularly the impact of technology on the sector.

Catherine McKernan - Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort

Catherine is Marketing Team Lead at Galgorm Spa & Golf Resort.

There aren’t many sectors that have had a more difficult time as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic as hospitality and tourism so we’re looking forward to talking to Catherine about her experience.

Prior to her current role Catherine worked in the global engineering sector for almost 3 years after graduating with a First Class Honours from the BSc Marketing degree at Ulster University.

Marcus Hunter-Neill - Founder, U-CAN Network

Marcus’ colourful career and experience is far too extensive to document here so here are a few highlights.

Marcus was one of the first drag artists from Northern Ireland and was also NI’s first male cosmetics sales person.

Marcus has overcome many challenges over the course of his career and will feature on our episode focusing on how to deal with imposter syndrome.

Louise Cunningham - First Derivatives

Louise is VP and Head of Field Marketing at First Derivatives – one of Ireland’s biggest business success stories of the last decade.

Having been with the company 2011 Louise has experienced her role develop in a fast growing organisation and will talk to us about the challenges and opportunities that has brought.

 First Derivatives floated on the stock exchange in 2002 and in 2018 reached a market valuation in excess of £1bn.

Jamie Gordon - Datactics

Jamie is currently a marketing executive with Belfast software company, Datactics having graduated with a First Class Honours degree from BSc (Hons) in Marketing from Ulster University in 2020.

As well as being a high performing student (check out his roll of honour on his Linkedin page), Jamie committed to getting as much work experience as he could while studying and had 3 very different roles during his studies working in the recruitment marketing sector, digital media space and with a Belfast Digital Marketing Agency.

Joanne Faloon - Ulster University

Before her current role as a lecturer on the Communications, Advertising & Marketing degree at Ulster University, Joanne spent more than 15 years in senior marketing roles in a variety of businesses.

From food and drink, to publishing and engineering Joanne has a wealth of experience in building high performing marketing teams and has been through numerous recruitment processes to try and find the right candidate.
